iv recently bought an Olympus C-750 ultra zoom, its a very nice piece of kit for a very good price IMO.

printouts on my Epson 915 truly are amazing.

it has a 10x optical zoom lens which was a big deciding factor for me.

:)

How are you getting on with the 915 Paul? I've got one, the results are fantastic but, god, is it heavy on ink carts!

Hmmm, might have to agree to differ on that one, I dismissed the 717 back in '02 due to a number of features, the limit of card size (128Mb) and it being an uncomfortable camera to hold, being just two.

Tim

The 717 is certainly different to hold to most cameras but once you get used to it it actually seems easier and more comfortable. Cameras have always been designed in the traditional way to suit the mechanism. Now everything is digital why not do things a different way?

The Sony Memory Sticks are now available in Pro versions going up to 1GB so that's not a problem for the new Sony cameras.

I just love messing about with the night vision and night focusing modes :D

yup, bout the same!! very good quality prints, but eats ink cartridges for breakfast!! why do they make the thins so bloody small FFS (apart to make loads of money from us of course  )

iv found Fuji premium satin paper gives excellent results for photos

:)

Try the ILFORD GALERIE paper too, have had fantastic results from the smooth pearl variant.

Avoid Kodak like the plague, they take and age to dry, I'm talking days rather than hours!

As for the Epson carts, they have been investigated and it was found that they pack up well before they are empty thanks to the PCB on them. Epson ink is now more expensice per ml than vintage champagne!
