Very very easy job - removed the door cards, removed the existing speakers (standard hitachi rubbish) and the metal plate they were screwed to, enlarged the holes in the door cards slightly and screwed the 6x9s into place.

Make a big difference to the sound and look great.

Need to figure out how to tackle the rear ones now!

Let me know how you get on with those rear speakers, im thinking of swapping mine but am unsure what to replace them with:confused:

check the posts on here - try a seach for 6x9s and see what you get!

My new import has a cracking sound set up already in it. Someone has built an excellent shelf that slots into the original screen holders and is hinged half way so you can lift and gain access to the boot. Very well made indded

Anyway to the point. I will try and get some pics on here for you to see. Basically has two 6x9 slotted in and a rather large amp in bbetween. I have a friend who is a chippy and can no doubt knock up a replica pretty easily. If anyone is interested could get them made up.

Due to the width of the boot space and weight of the amp it requires some support from metal struts and does make it heavy and limits boot space. But it looks good sounds good and its to damn heavy for some little git to walk off with !

Stu and many others have done it

check it out

Cheerz, mickey

I've got another pair of Alpine SPR-694A 6x9s to go in the back, along with a set of 17cm Alpine components and two 12" Ballistic Busta subs and three amps....

Luckily a mate who's good with fibreglass is going to do it all nicely for me :)

Can't be bothered trying to squeeze these big bracketed 6x9s into the existing back speaker holes...
