Im still looking to buy one but it looks like I need a uk car and NOT an import down to insurance. Tesco (who Im with with my Supra Turbo) wants over £1000 for an import and only £450 for a UK TT. Does anyone know a good insurer for imports?

you need norton insurance they will sort ya jap tt on classic:D

Hi yer mate , try Adrian Flux ,,,he,s in jap performance number is :-08700777888,,,tell them you had a performance car, i`m with them , they were the cheapest i found at the time,,but japs do tend to be more to insure , but you can get so much on them when they come in to the country ,,,swings and roundabouts ,,,good luck:D

That's so much less than I am paying (£970)... Is it insured as a second veichle?.

But I was paying nearly £800 for my Z last year - my saving went halfway to buying a little runaround.

I think I will do the same.

I got a mk2 8v Golf GTI, does me a treat. Insurance on that was only £250 tpft, so still saved almost £300 overall insuring BOTH cars!

Liverpool Victoria do insure imports - I have insurance with them and confirmed import status.....You may have got someone who doesnt realise they do them or they've changed policy since July.

Insurance factory do classic insurance on imports. I'm paying around £350. Needs to be 2nd car :)

Footman James are pretty good regarding normal insurance for an import. However, they only offer classic on UK spec.

Ok, contact Houghton Insurance on 01582 867763 and ask to speak to Ken (Salmon I think his last name is) about their "Collectors Car Insurance" for the 300ZX. Unlike the majority of telephone insurance sellers he actually knows his stuff about cars and should give you a very good quote even with modifications declared, Jap or UK spec and with no stipulation that you need to be over 30. Better still, if you're a member of the Owners Club you get a discount. Good luck fella.
