ok maybe not.... how about a clio 1.4i? nice nippy little car, reliable as anything and cheap to run, insure, fix and easy to work on.

HOw much are Ford Ka foing for? They are not bad cars.

o forgot to say

got to be japanese

;) ;) ;)

steve

yep nissan clio:D

FIAT Cinquecento

Cheap bird like and not a bad little car for the cash. £5-900 leaves you with £1100 to spend on the Zed ;)

hi Stevo

the Micra is actually a good choice. My wife drove a 1.0 16v (manual) before I bought her a new Corsa 1.4 sport 16v.

A mate and I were in Birmingham a few years back and he needed to be home pretty sharpish. We did it in 1 hour flat in the Micra (99 mile trip:D  ). Still no-one believes us to this day:D

Richard;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

yup, mrs C has one! cheap tax insurance & £10 of fuel lasts for months!! :D

civic ESi, only 1 or 2 groups higher and got a bit more poke! allthough the lsi is quick for a 1.5 !! :)

esi has SOHC VTEC though :)

Matt

I'd say a Rover 220 turbo... but I wouldn't be serious ;)

Yes my MK1 MR2 - then I can get the Z until I can sell it the boss won't let me get another car.

Oh well just a thought.

LOL - these things do come around once in a while !

I posted this exact same question ( slightly bigger bidget - not much tho ) in the old GTO forums a few months ago.

The best choices seem to be :

Suzuki Cappuccino or Honda Del Sol.

Dont know much about either but apparently you wont *hate* either on the odd occasion you drive them.

Good luck in the search anyway.

Adam

thanks mate

cappuccino are them little things bit to small im 6 3

whats a del sol is it crx:confused:

How could you forget the Pulsar?!

Alternatively 205 diesels are dead easy (and fun) to drive, run on fresh air, cost about 200 quid a year in servicing (or less, I drove a stupid amount of miles in it), and weigh bugger all so tyres last for ever. You'll get an absolute minter for 2k and they are indestructible. I did a 150-mile a day commute in it for 9 months without a sniff of trouble. Cruises at 80 surprisingly well AND is good around town.

PS was first car for me and for gf at the time, so definitely good for new drivers.

gotta be a 1.0 litre Micra. Cheap, economic, fairly fun to drive - try 65 mph in 2nd, although I tend to do 50mph in 2nd on a daily basis. :D

You win't mind if it gets smacked about the place and an excellent way to learn how to drive a car.

I believe Richard anyway cos I do a ton in it everyday (whenever no-one gets in my way) - not the perfect replacement for a Z...but still! My mate borrow's his mum's Micra every now and again and just pastes it into the floor
