Since we are still in the fireworks season I was thinking about setting my 14 year old road flare off. Anyone know the best and safest way to do it ?

I didn’t get any instructions with it LMAO !!!

Yes, get a small child to do it for you and stand well back! LOL!:D

LOL IIRC you take the top of then you can strike it like a match.

Have somewhere ready to drop it, that you are not bothered about burning, and they create A LOT of smoke so shut your door ;)

Mine lasted about 15 mins in John Dixon's back garden.

Take some pics!! :D:D

So, they are actually smoke flares then rather than light flares.???

I was expecting it to shoot up in the air or something.

No they just fizzle on the road.

That is a great idea. When I have broken down in a bad place, set off your smoke flare and make visability 0 ;)

I thought it was light flare it just doesnt shoot up. You can be done for carrying explosives if you have one. Some one took theirs into a police station and it caused a ruckus.

do it in pete's kitchen just in case it get out of hand.

Pete has flares that are 14 years old too...........he wears them most saturday nights......

Don't get too excited. You will be distinctly underwhelmed. Take off cap, turn it round to use as a 'striking' surface, drag it accross the top of the main part of the flare, chuck it on the ground and watch it smoke and fizzle. It's supposed to be a safety device to warn other motorists that you are there.

It aint no Hiroshima!!

LOL, James ur a git :slap:
