Got my 300zx TT 2 seater on Saturday been attracting a lot of attention from people in the street as it's the only one in my local town (as it has a throaty roar and dump valves of course)...

...tonight, was working late at my friend's shop, pulled away from the side of the road, looked in the mirror, police astra behind me...follows me about for 5 mins, then pulls me over...

...two (very polite) policemen then proceeded to ask me all sorts of questions about the car (including "off the record how fast is it" - like I'm going to answer that!)

Of course, having only been registered through the SVA etc on Fri, the police computer has no record of the car or plate, so they call the traffic coppers to have a look over it, checking the chassis number etc...was standing around in the cold for 1/2 an hour!

Best moment however was the traffic copper - walks round the car, smugly says to me "I take it the switch to turn the fog lamps off works?" - he was rather sheepish when I turned ON the foglights and the running lights lit up brighter :)

Anyway after much looking over the car looking for something to do me for (to no avail of course, it was MOTd on Fri) and writing down loads of notes they let me go with a warning to expect to get pulled regularly...

GITS!

Oh,

I don't think I should ask anymore if there's a legal case pending!

Hey, I remember my first words to Mr M, I said that GPS had been recommended by a guy called Mac, off the forum.

I can't moan, he's been a top bloke on two occasions, but I haven't had them do any work on my car yet

Don't worry Nige, the BIG PROBLEM has not gone from GPS;)

yes, I think i understand the coded reply.

I was at C&S Woods one day when someone came over from GPS to borrow a socket.

The boys pissed themselves laughing.

Only ever been stopped twice in the Z in 4 years.

However I got stopped 26 times in one year when I had a Rover 214....

I can beat that!!! ive only been stopped 3 or 4 times scince i got my licence back 5 years ago, once for not looking old enough to drive (in my nova, at 22 FFS!!) once in my astra gay gte cabriolet for doing 100+ down the M6, got let off with a stern telling off. once in the first zed, for my reg plate £30 fine, and once in the 2nd zed for burning a bird off in a set of light in a saxo!!!

But back in my boyracing days i managed to collect 21 producers in a week, by thrashishing my lowered, blacked out 1.3 astra round the town, i should of sued for victimisation, but in all fairness i was a little tosser that deserved it!!!

I got my own back by taking my documents down and watching the look on the woman at the stations face when she realised she was going to have to fill out 21 of their forms for it at 2 o clock in the morning!!!:D

I often feel a bit naughty sometimes, booting it off the lights etc...but what can they do you for?! Dangerous driving?

"Maximum acceleration 10m/s/s" LOL

I think there is an offence code for excessive acceleration, if they want to be really picky.

I got fined for having my seat too far back once, fought it and i think if my memory serves me correct i got off with that one!
