When my Z comes out of the bodyshop, I was thinking of treating it to a new number plate.

Does G 300 T look too much like its 'G' reg or do you make the connection to 'GT' ?

Other possibilty is C 300 J ........both for reasonable money. The 2nd one £100 cheaper.

Which would mean FST 36M would be up for sale.

LOL :D

I did say some time ago I might be selling FST and someone did say way back then they wanted it. It was a long time ago though but to be fair IF I did sell it and he still wanted it, I would have to sell it to him (forget who it was now lol) ......if not it will be erm........um....£50! What a bargain.

PM'd Ya

Wouldn't it be

G 3 OOT ??

or are there more characters missing?

Don't forget that you can actually go to jail for mispacing the letters (if the judge decides that you're trying to misrepresent your plate). It's also very hard to get non-standard spaced plates made up after recent changes in the law, sorry!

If this is the case then it's going to read a G Boot - not sure what this would mean to anyone!

........and Pete will be "going down" quite a bit I reckon LOL.

Pete........be quiet, its rude to speak with your mouth full. Oh and "No lube Ned" wants a word with you in cubicle no.4.

LOL - can't you homos stay on topic for a second?? :);)

Anyway, James (Jaffa) is quite right, I just got a set of plates from FancyPlates, and it's WYSIWYG, really, it is! :D What arrived is exactly what I wanted.

And, since my plate is B13 OOX, I have to take issue with what Nigel is saying, cos it looks exactly like B1 300X, which is fine as far as I'm concerned. I've only left one extra space (hopefully, not a jailable offence) and it looks fine.

Go for it mate .. get the G 3OOT one .. T is for Twin and Turbo, after all. :)

i had my numbers mis spaced as well so i hope its not a jailable offence - my front plate is sort of alright

B1 4LEX

but my rear plate is probably taking the piss a it.

B1

4LEX

Regards,

alex

The CJ one is £399 including transfer. Would've done you quite well mate?

i picken mine up for £200 squid ex transfer - what a bargain

Hey guys, don't shoot the messenger, but this is not bullshit!

Displaying a mis-spaced plate is an offence which will attract a fine.

If you are involved in an 'incident' and have to be traced by police discriptions of your car, then the judge may decide that you have tried to evade capture by displaying a misleading plate.

There was a case reported in the Manchester Evening News of some geezer getting 12 months for causing damage to another vehicle and then dissapearing without stopping. The hit and run would have been a fairly minor offence, but they threw the book at him when they realised his plate was not street legal and that he had tried to evade capture by displaying it on his vehicle.

Either way, I think the fines are around £1k so you have to be mad (or rich) to risk it.

Fancy Plates will make whatever plate you like as they are based in Ireland.

Making a non-standard plate is now an offence in the uk.

But getting one made in Ireland only becomes an offence when you fix it to your car in the space where a real plate should go.

hey, maybe there's a 'fancyfines.com' website too eh!

Incidentally, you may think I'm going off on one here, but my brother was killed by a hit and run driver who has yet to be caught, cos his plate has never been traced.

I'd therefore be happy to shop the lot of you, just to make me feel better about it!

:slap:

making a non-standard plate is only illegal if sold for road use, so all they have to do is sell it with a disclaimer quoting they are "show plates" & not intended for road use.

ways round everything ;)

It's alright Nigel, I completely agree with you about ill-legable plates.

Personally my plate is standard font but motorbike size to fit my import bumper....

...and the front is the same to match the rear - anyway it looks a lot better and sits nicely on the front bumper
