I am experiencing extreme difficulties getting hold of a set of front disks for a 90 non turbo auto j-spec

I've had to send back 4 sets of disks so far and i'm rapidly getting shirty about this .

Does anyone have an idea where i can buy a set of front disks as they seem to be as rare as rocking horse shit

Arnt the N/A discs a different size than the TT? This may be your problem. Loads of posts on here about brake discs though. Worst case Nissan or Courtesy in the USA though probly lots on shipping due to weight.

Hi just a few ideas

You could try contacting B19rks I think he works for Quinton Hazel.

Andy P on the traders forum as is Z centre or Z world all will point you in the right direction.

You could also try a search on the forum.

Hope this helps

i knew all along they were a different size its the vendors in this country calling themselves experts that are the problem .

i need someone who can say for sure they bought them from a particular place .

i can't be the only one with this problem

Early 90's NA's have smaller front discs/calipers.

You can get them from Courtesy in the US, but it's probably cheaper to get calipers/discs from a wrecked TT .

It's a direct direct swap and you no longer have trouble sourcing discs in the future.

for the moment forking out the extra dosh for two calipers aint an option as i live in poor'sville cornwall where we are paid in peanuts.

i did already consider this option thanks anyway

but if anyone knows of some going cheap i may be swayed towards that option.:slap:

plenty of scones but no cider it clashes with driving.

and there aint nothing preventing me from driving my z:dance:

when I spoke to the guy from 3G brakes he told me about the difference in thickness with mine being a 90 NA, and said he could do a replacement and an upgrade

HTH

I replaced my jspec 1990, non turbo front discs last year, got them from MJP Eastern auto youll find him in the trader section. they were pricy though as were nissan original parts.

hope this helpd you.

bought my na disks from I think JRT Automotive - they specialise in brakes etc, and if I remember correctly they were about £50 each and needed 3mm spacers to make them fit. I believe the blobe who owns JRT got them from EBC who milled out a central recess specially. They were jap disks - and to date have been fine. I'll dig out the contact details... and include them on another post.

...found the receipt - dated 6th of the 10th, 2000. It's from JRT Automotive. Their tel number is 01494 792211.

Quantity 2 - 955196 Brake Disks - £71.91 plus £6.50 carriage plus the dreaded vat - £92.20 in total.

Good luck

Got mine for a 90 N\A from Mike Feeney at MJP. Fitted with no problems.

hopefully be back on the power asap:dance:

If it helps - although probably not - I've just got a set of four Brembo discs (OEM size) for a TT from the US - £200 all in including shipping, duty, VAT etc. Drilled and slotted - look very nice in the box.

Hope they fit :D
