Parents are being asked to pay £25 to park when they drop their kids off at school, because they keep parking in residents bays, who say its chaos. and they cant even get out some mornings.

What do you think?

like the idea of the human train

saw one the outher morning it was pissing it down

kids seemed to love it parents not so keen .

lmao

I dont have kids so probably shouldnt have an opinion, but the amount of cars doing the school run with one kid and a parent in them, then parking all over the shop gets a bit much sometimes, I know it would P me off even more if they were parking in my residents parking bay. A good walk in the rain in school shorts never did me any harm :)

The prob is worse now in part to council and education authority cut backs as per fookin usual, many children in out line areas no longer have the support of a school bus/coach,so 100s of thousands of parents now have no choice but to take them in thier cars etc,i will give you one example,my lads friend at school USED to come on the school coach that would do the village rounds, thats no n longer availablke this year,he lives 6 miles away, his dad takes him and picks him up,he being a widower and running a small farm its no suprise to see him turn up in a big 4x4,so everything thats taken away by these fookin money pinchin twats has a knock on effect,we've all seen it one way or another,i could go on for hours, but the same conclusion would be arrived at,the ****ing country is as bout **** up as you can get,i will get off me soap box know, but one more ****EM to make me feel better:mad:

There wouldnt be so many fat lazy little brats if they got off their arses and walked to school and learned how to kick a ball around instead of sitting behind a playstation all night.

I walked to school every day since i started at age of 5, first with my mother until i was about 9 then on my own with mates, only a few miles though and we always had a great safe time :)

this was in the last 10 years :D

We all must notice how much the traffic decreases when the kids are on their schoold hols. So why is it not logic to itroduce school buses?. I know the intial cost would be huge but surely it would save £££ on road maintence and such.

LOL Did they have buses when you were at school Tony?! ;) :D

BUSES????? they didn't even have ROADS then!

Yes! Charge them LOTS!! If they want to park in a controlled residential area just to drop little Tarquin off. Why the hell should they get off with it. If you or I parked there we'd get a ticket, so whats so bloody special about the school run!?!?!

There have ALWAYS been kiddie fiddlers around, since recorded history, so nothing has changed there! Christ don't you remember those bloody awful "Charlie Says......" Public information cartoons about "Not talking to strangers"? They were out over 30 years ago!

Just to add to the "When I were a lad...." theme, my school journey went like this.....

20 minute WALK to the tube station.

18 stops on the tube (45 mins - 3 hours!)

10 minute walk to bus stop

20 minutes on bus, then change buses

15 minutes on next bus.

In the traditional Haynes style....getting home was the reverse of the above.

So I have NO SYMPATHY with the complaints of any parents who drive their fat, ignorant, stupid mewling little shits to school.:p

Well I had to get up half and hour before I went to bed, from my shoebox int' middle o'road, eat a cup of cold gravel and pay the school for the privilege of going... etc... ;)
