Driving back from work last week just as i was streets away from home the car starts runing like it was on 5 cylinders.

Parked up outside my house half hour later started thr car again and it starts nice ,went to park it in the garage and it happens again.well what ive done so far is to pull all the leads going to the coil packs, and you notice a change on 5 of them one of them number 4 cylinder when i pull the conector going to that cylinder nothing happens.

Today i started it again it was fine as soon as it got to normal temp it starts running on 5 cylinders again what could be causing this?

Its either the coil or the PTU - a search for PTU will reveal more - quite a common problem

would this explain why the car has cut out on me sometimes when i go to stop?

swap over 2 of the coilpacks and clean up all the connectors, that might sort you out :)
