Personally id avoid those speed up thingys.

Defrag your hard drive. Virus scan. Get something like spybot ot adaware.

Also is it gradually getting worse, or could it just be the internet is slow at this particular moment in time, cos i know it happens a bit with blueyonder.

yeah thats what it was too much porn, defragged a while ago, maybe a week or 2 ago, but v little difference

Have you downloaded Kazaa - that can slow it down.

geoff.

Yeah get rid of KaZaa , assuming you have it, and get KaZaa lite, same without spy software.

Are you running XP and have you recentky downloaded any of the security patches ? There was one that caused trouble a while back,

i downloaded a couple of supposed spyware thingys from download.com but they never had a way of uninstalling them, wonder if thats anything to do with it im not aware of kazaa or kaZaa lite so dont think its that or any security patch

With some windows the more programs you add the slower it gets, until you get what you have (maybe). Each new program takes a bit of memory etc, I am no expert, even deleting them does not always get rid of all of the program.

Maybe its time to wipe the hard drive and reload.

Guessing that you have Windows XP.

Call up Command prompt from accessories;

type chkdsk /f and press 'Enter'.

In Accessories call up Disc Tools and click Disk Cleanup

Try Defrag - get it to see if it's needed.

Right click in bottom bar and call up Task Manager, click

Processes and see what's running.

Do you have AVG Anti-virus?
