Having read all the posts over the last week or so... .....I've found myself being drawn into the prospect of owning a Zed.

Are there any experts out there that can help checkout a car I'm thinking of buying.

Its is located in Guildford just off M25.

Happy to pay your expenses!

Don't really want to use RAC/AA as they will probably just tick the boxes.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Martin

Welcome to the board :)

First of All, I would suggest that you should have a look at AndyP's site

AndyP's Site

Hi Martin,

I know an excellent mechanic who owns a zed and lives near Crawley, have a look at the links and AndyP's site, it has a buying guide on it!

If you have any doubts give me a ring and I will give you the benefit of my amateur knowledge!

Martin,

The AA/RAC checks are, in my opinion, a good thing. The technicians won't be Z experts but they are genuinely god mechanics in my experience. You can pick up on the particular Z things from the links posted above.

The benefit of AA/RAC is that they are independent and seen as expert. I had one done when I bought my Z. The inspection cost me £250 or so but the paperwork produced allowed me to negotiate a £900 deduction for things which needed sorting.

Cheers

Dave
