I think I am being greased up for penetration by my ICE fitter, do I need to remove the whole dashboard to remove my non-factory fitted stereo ???

No! Just the surround not the whole dash!

Two screws either side of the vents (under small inserts), two screws in panel below vents.

 

That should remove the stereo surround and I think it's just another couple of screws after that.

It took me a maximum of 1 minute to pull the stereo forwards last time.

 

it's dead easy, (if you know how!)

it took me about 10 minutes to get the stereo out, the speakers were done by someone else, they are a bit more difficult as you may need to buy mounts for them, the ICE guys modified my old ones to hold 6 inch speakers.
