Hi,

This is probably a passing phase seeing I have just finished watching 2 fast 2 furious but I have a question on NOS if anyone has any experience with it.

I know the smallest jets that can be bought for NOS is 25bhp.

Would I need to do extensive work on my engine and gearbox internals to use jets this big or would a standard set up be capable of handling this sort of power. If so then how about 50 bhp jets?

Cheers,

Justin

The general concensus is its a bad idea and you could probably get good power upgrades on a TT by following more established routes,

jock has it on his NA, not sure if its hooked up yet,

could you remind us of your insurance company jock, need to find a good one which allow extensive mods,

I must agree with you I guess MIke, probably a waste of money really, seeing I could probaly get an extra 80bhp or so with a chip and leccy boost controller for similar money.

Those purge kits look cool tho!

Justin:)

Justin, if you want to look cool with a purge kit, get yourself a CO2 fire extinguisher and vent it through a pipe, its probably what they did in the film anyway, why chuck away Nos like that??

Also why p*ss about with 25 or 50 bhp? the kit will cost the same whether 25 or 100bhp (but its not cheap.lol)

Mike, I use liverpool and victoria, but am 36 with a load of NCB

A ready made CO2 purge kit:- http://www.noswizard.com/other.php

I thought it looked cool in the film but then thought, if i drove round doing that would i look cool, or like a complete n utter twat??

I must say if NO2 bottles didnt run out so quick i'd look at getting some hooked up.

The std 300zx engine can handle 50hp `s worth of nitrous, but its like the other guyz said the zx engine is so tuneable it is not the route many take , until they have explored,,,exhausts ,chip-upgrades and bigger turbos , intercoolers etc ,,,if done properly gives you the edge when racing at the last minute so to speek,,,,,

but if any one saw that grey R32 Skyline go off down the track at the jap meet at Santapod a few weeks back ,,, you could be mistaken that nitrous was definantly the way to go ,,,personally i love the stuff,,,,,,but the film sequence is a bit far fetched,,,special effects and all that,,,,
