Help, I have recently purchased a UK spec 300zx TT, and am having laods of problems with the brakes. The front disks and pads are new, and the brake fluid have been bled recently, yet they feel very spongey and weak and the car tends to swerve under braking. What do i do?????????????????????

Hi, Welcome to the land of the Z's

Sorry to hear your experience is a bad one at the moment.

Which side does the car swerve?

Have you put the pads on your self?

From experience of a normal car not my Z, it could be one of your calipers leaking. I had an Astra with the same characteristics, you have said. When I pressed the brake brake fluid was leaking out but when I took my foot off the brake, it sucked it back in, so there where no signs of a leaking caliper.

Sorry I could be more helpful. Keep posting some one with more experice will find the problem.

Sounds a bit like an air bubble in one side. If it pulls to the left then re-bleed the caliper on the right and make sure you follow the procedure to the letter.

Were the old pads worn evenly ? If not then you could have a sticking caliper. How old is the car and how old are the brake lines ? You could replace the old rubber hoses with nice steel braided lines and take the opportunity to replace ALL the fluid with DOT 5.
