Hi all would appreciate thoughts on the value of a 1992 TT Auto with warranted 12K miles on the clock.

Overal condition refelects miles ie in pristine condition with leather interior etc black in colour car is original spec.

I'd say the price of an average 1992 TT is about 4.5k-5.5k but if its genuinly got 12k on the clock and its overall condition reflects this my personal opinion would be around 8-9k. The fact that it is totally standard could be a good selling point too quite a few people looking for 'un-molested' cars... really depends on the individual buyer as well...

Sure someone who is a lot more knowledgeable than me can give you a better idea...

If the car was an average miler in very good condition and well maintained, it should probably sell at about £4,500 to £5,500 (some dealers would probably try it on, I've seen similar age cars for sale at £8,000 to £9,000!!)

However... if it's genuinely 12,000 miles, not been crashed and repaired and truly is truly mint, it might be worth £7,000 to £8,000 (in my opinion!) but I dread to think what a dealer might want for it!!

Remember, you can buy a minter with higher mileage thats had everything done to it service/repair wise privately as stated above, so don't pay too much for it!!

Just my biased (motor trade distrusting!) opinion.

(sorry if I am boring people who have heard me say this a fair few times)

I bought an NA with 16k miles on the clock, and loads of people have said it is very clean. I paid £6000, which I suppose is a lot for a non turbo, but it was in almost new condition and it had loads of Japanese service history. Doesn't it depend on how much value you see the service history, and how it lets you know how the car has been treated?

If you look at a car and you can see from the owner and the history they have kept that it has been well-loved then that is a pretty valuable thing. Even a higher milage car that has been kept well would be a good purchase.

How much would my NA 'really' be worth? It's worth what I was willing to pay. How much would the car have been worth if it had done 80000 rather than 17000? I had it a week and the clutch slave cylinder went, so straight away it cost me £120 to start off the maintainance bills. Maybe a car with no history would run without a hitch for ages. In the end you can tell a dog of a car from a decent motor. I would expect to see the car you are talking about at a dealer for £8000-9000. I would be prepared to pay £7500 maybe. But you have to meet somewhere in the middle. It's amazing how many cars hang around on the trader for months, then you see them slowly slip down when they realise they just can't get anyone interested at that price.

Am I just talking shit here?

What's the best bargaining people have managed here? I am crap at it, and managed 12 instead of 3 months warranty. Woo Hoo. I was tired of bargaining though. I could have had a heavily modded TT for £5500 instead of £6000 (but it had no history) so I'm not that fantastic at haggling.

Assuming it's genuine, for an oddity (cause of the low mileage) it's worth what someones prepared to pay! 8-9K probably's not unreasonable but bear in mind that's a lot for an 11 year old car, you could buy 2 or maybe 3 decent ones for that price!
