On way home from work my 300 cut out 4 times....when i was slowing down at lights or turning into my street when there i am at slow speed....i leave it for a few seconds and it starts no probs and runs ok....no lights flashing or misfires. When the car restarts it turns like normal then fires up...no slow start like in fuel starvation...I have tried mooving plugs etc then as i say when i try..it starts no probs...

The only thing i was wondering was with the emission control.....both my cats are fecked as at MOT my car failed (but passed

Any input welcome.

Does it do the same with the A/C on ? If not then think about the idle control valve electrical connection.

I did have the blower on cause it had been a bit steamy in the car but i put them off. Recently the tickover on the car is erratic....sometimes going up/down between 800-1000 rpm then it settles at 800. Today the 1st time it cut out i was sitting at lights then it just stopped...wouldnt start,,,then did after maybee 1 minute, all i did was move the wiring loom/plugs etc at ptu and cam sensor on the rh front side of the engine....when i moved them after the car started it didnt cut out so i think it wasnt related that it did start after i played with the looms/plugs there.

Is the emission question maybee a lot of rubbish...with the emissions being sky high and the cats sometimes smelling like raw eggs nothing to do with the intermittant cut out.

....turned out to be the yellow connector on the idle valve as AndyP mentioned, mine would not cut out if the A/C was on either..Just cleaned the connectors and all is well....

Try wiggling the connector and see if the engine idle alters, obviously it should'nt do...if all is well...

I moved my car to my driveway from the street, the engine still being warm i lifted the revs for a short while......the car cut out and wont restart now....i am gonna try and get it running later on.

Earlier 2 day when it cut out the engine would crank and crank but not start...then after playing with wiring plugs etc it started no probs...

With the TPS did u not get the engine management light flashing as I am not. Also I have noticed when i pull away (when the car was ok) that the revs dropped down as though the car was gonna staul but it never...maybee the tps right enough.

I tried again but it still wont start but i need to wait till 9 2 nite as my kids are still up b4 i get a chance to look at it.

What a pain in the onions cars are when the dont go.

I had idle and cutting out problems, turned out to be a fooked dump valve staying open letting in too much air.

All that happened with mine was the car would stall when I put the clutch in when slowing down for traffic lights or a junction. No warning, or anything, just stalled and all the dash lights came on.

If it doesn't start then I would start to think about the PTU. Check for a spark at the time and/or see if you can blag a known good one off someone as a test.

I think i have found the source.....when i wiggle the wiring going to the right hand bank close to where the main loom runs along the top close to the bulkhead.....well the car wasnt starting but then it started and cut out, then restarted when i wiggled the wiring again.....kids in bed soon.....then i can get some time to look at it..

Andy.. thats all that happened earlier today..it just cut out..no warning or lamps flashing....

Well i think I have found the prob.....the loom i was talking about at the back is for the injectors....when i wiggle the connectors about the car revs change dramatically....i had cleaned them all up when the plenium was off but i think maybee new terminals/plugs needed.

Anyone sourced plugs/terminals for injectors on a 300tt b4???

Cheers for the replies everyone....john crisp

Has anyone sourced a part number for the terminals for the injectors...mine are all green and my car is running like on 5 cylinders.

Cheers Andy for the numbers.

My fookin car wont start now.

The idle valve mentioned.....would that cause non-start if the plug was corodded......there is a valve on the left side with a pipe going to the plenium like air pipe with a plug with an orange/black wire on it...is this the idle valve.

Also all my injector wires are corroded and i had the car running today on 5 cylinders and mooving the wiring for the injectors made the engine note change dramatically and even had the car cut out....then restsrt sometimes.

To make matters worse my pc had a virus and now after rebooting it i cant install any programs aka acrobat reader to read my manual on cd.......ffs when it rains it feckin pours..

Today i cleaned up all the terminals on the injectors and idle valve..car started from cold and ran np probs but roughly like it was missing a cylinder........then i stopped it and left it for a while but the engine was still warm when i tried to restart but it wont start now.......PTU maybee?....its funny that when car is started from cold its ok....but with heat in the engine it wont start.

Any input welcome

When the car ran today it was missing a cylinder again typical ptu symptom...There are 2 300's in scrap yards close to me so i can hopefully source one locally.
