Can anyone tell me if the standard brake disks on the Zed are hardened or not? If not im going to get mine grooved in the toolroom at work!!:dance:

No theyre not handed, just the wheels that are!!

No - nothing special about the Z discs - dont play with them - buy some new ones that have grooves as standard - you will weaken the disc and it will warp at best or break at worst.

why would you?? if the machnist's good they should be able to make a decent job of it... grooved disks started out as standard!

Alls I'm saying is I would buy them from new and not tamper with them for safety's sake.

 

Your choice though.
