I need a 8 port 10/100 hub / adsl router with firewall. Does such a product exist and any ideas where to buy cheap?

All recommendations much appreciated.

Cheers

Martin

I'm not sure if you can get 8 port routers, but you can definitely get 4 port ones like the D-Link DSL-504 I've got. You could buy a cheap 8 port switch and just get a single port router instead?

Indeed - buy a good Router and buy a Hub to go with it The router will be a 4 port one as minimum and another 4 port hub is quite cheap.

D-Link and US Robotics both produce good DSL Routers. USR is bringing out a new product in a couple of weeks priced around £85. Netgear also sell their DM602 (with single 10/100 port) for about £65.

I've got a Netgear wireless ADSL router at home and its top notch - has 4 ethernet ports built in. I use for Broadband throughout the house. Firewall and attack protection built into it so no need for software on the PC.:)
