Whilst in workshop yesterday local Nissan dealership called me to ask how long it took to change the centre propshaft bearing on a 300 as they needed to quote a customer?? seemed weird at first that they called me as they are the dealer but kind of made sense as they rarely deal with 300`s, but later I realised I had quoted a local zed owner myself last week and assumingly he was checking at the dealer.

May see next week who gets the job? oooh can`t wait:D

Well personally I would not like to take my car to a place where they dont know how long it will take to do.

If they dont know how long it will take, they dont know what is needed to be done to change the bearing.

Surprised as they normally have a book that tells them how long a job takes.

I think 'the nissan book' says an hour and a half for that job! I guess they were a bit schepticle as was my local main Dealer.

How much do you charge jeff, cus mines buggered.

cheerz.

Mickeyb, bearing cost is in the region of £150+vat from Nissan, remove exhaust prop etc swap over and refit works out to around £120, presently trying to hammer down the Nissan price with our supplier given the amount we spend there! so price may come down by 25% or so hopefully.

HI Jeff,

2 of my nearest nissan dealers do not work on 300's anymore they refer me to uxbridge.

apparently they are the area specialist - when i checked in july they had worked on 3 this year hmmmmm:rolleyes:

Alex
