OK - I know standard Jap size is 225/50 all round, and UK 225/50 front and 245/45 rear.. But..

I dunno if my car has UK or Jap spec rears on it.. Can anyone tell me what the numbers are that are printed on all four of your wheels? (They're stamped where the L or R are)..

Thanks smile.gif Need to get some new tyres today ya see..

The wheels are obviously different but only if you look closely. The rears have a bracing web in the casting, very obvious from the inside and can usually be seen through the slots on the outside. Anyway, all you really need to know is whether the fronts and rears have different numbers.

For reference they are as follows :-

F - 40P00 (L or R)

R - 40P10 (L or R)

Mine go

FL 40P00

FR 40P05

BL 40P10

BR 40P15

Why?

Stuart

Strange.. I have two 40P00 and two 40P05, but mixed around the axles.. I think it's a case of both L's are 40P05 and both R's are 40P00's (only the backs are on backwards, to confuse me).

Looks like 225/50 all round then for me.

SRRAE - looking at my wheels, the '5' on the end designates L or R... UK rears should be 10 or 15 depending on the side...

Anyway, popped down to my fave tyre place, 4 Bridgestone S-03's in 225/50R16 for £135 fitted.. I'll take a set please, thank you very much smile.gif In on monday...

There was also a rather nice Porsche 911T in there.. Mmm...

I'm an arse - only looked at one side of the car. What I should've written was this :-

FR 40P00

FL 40P05

RR 40P10

RL 40P15

That's two things I screwed up in my rush this morning ... frown.gif

And yes I have checked it and no it doesn't agree with what Stuart wrote earlier ????

Az, why don't you just get a pair of front boots and put the two least worst ones on the back while you get a set of UK rear rims ? MJP had some recently and they're not that hard to find usually, as loads of people put aftermarket wheels on and chuck their originals.

Andy - I think I'll go for all 4 still - the front tyres look like bags o' sh1te (no tread, cracked, very worrying looking!) and the rears are pretty low on tread too..

Plus given the worrying symptoms the rest of the car seems to have gained today frown.gif I think wider rear wheels will be the least of my worries.. (I have this feeling the 19 is gonna see some use yet..)
