When I bought my Z it had a cherished number plate on, and a part of the deal is that, he the owner at the time, keeps the plate and he will pay for a new one for me. This was 4 months ago. I e-mailed him asking what was happening, which he replied he was going to send the paper work now because he has bought a new car. That was over a month ago. I e-mailed him again and asked at what stage is the numberplate changing at. I have recieved no reply. either he is on holiday, possible, or he is ignoring me.

What shall I do? I really want rid of this shit numberplate but he said that he will pay for the change. I will wait another week or incase he is on holiday.

What shall I do?

As you are the registered keeper of the vehicle you could buy a new plate from DVLC using the year letter or earlier for the car and retain the old registration on a retention certificate valid one year. It'll cost you I think about £120 but presumably the other guy will pay to retreive it from you. I think it is just the cost of the retention certificate if you take pot luck on whatever numberplate is assigned to you for the year of the car.
