I think the difference in pricing is for the different types of end fittings. I think what they've qouted you is for plated steel ends. I spoke to Luke (Z centre) a while back and he said to make sure you get stainless steel ends. If I remember rightly, the guys name was John and the s/s lines were £17.95 + vat + carriage each. He did it all in (for front and rears) for 70 quid. If you phone up and ask for him, mention my name cos I know he'll remember me cos there was a mess up with the post when he sent mine (which he sorted out).

 

As for brake fluid, Darren's gonna do a complete flush and change to Dot 4.

SS brake lines. Not sold these as yet, but a company called Hose Direct can supply at a very good price.

As I have not had time too look at these you may wish to try Lukie Boy at the Z Centre.

Don't you guyZ that run a supply business know about having more than one phone line in, and having more than one person on the other end to answer queries? Not rocket science is it?

 

It's not just a case of not getting hold of any of you for just a day or two, some of you surface less on average than a Nuclear Sub under a polar ice cap for a 3 month tour of duty...sort it out guyZ!

If you want to do buisness the most modern up to date way is by the phone or calling in to see me. If you sent an e-mail and asked for a quote on a part I will do my best to answer HOWEVER. Having dealt with this forum for many years I know that you will want the best price possible. In order to acheive the best deal you need to speak to me.

It does not make a blind bit of difference how many tel lines you have because at the end of the day it is me who makes the final decision and it is me who has the final say so it is me you need to speak to.

Oiii steady Ginger Zpice mate! You forgot me in that list of people...I did have TC off you Johhny so I am also testament to how Godly you are.

 

That isn't what I'm on about mate, people are getting frustrated because they can't get to you people by phone! On your website it says that GPS is a family run business...are you the only member of that family then that nobody else can answer a phone?

 

This isn't a general dig at you either, it applies to the Z center and SE aswell. Getting to speak to Pete at SE is a record breaking achievment in itself, but some days just getting through to Paul is a task. What's the point of having "the person you are calling knows you are waiting..." if you never use the f**kin' thing!!! I'll just sit on the end of the phone for 4/5 mins. waiting for the person to take call waiting only to have it expire and run up my phone bill some more!

 

People on here have recently said that they have been trying for weeks to get in touch with Luke at the Z centre...WTF is that all about?

 

This isn't about who can get the best price, more about how your buying public get in touch with you in the first place!

Not wishing to upset any of you people out there but I'm with Tim on this. We're often out here trying to give away money and sometimes it's difficult to find someone to take it.

in all fairness to the ginger boy i'm at his gaff quite a lot and his phone never stops ive been there at 10 pm and its still going strong......picture the scene somebody from the forum rings ie craig or me what starts out as a possible 3 minute call ends up being a 1 hour one.....when he's busy he can tell someone like me to fuck off cos he's busy but with newish customers its not that easy. ive seen one customer take up to three days of his time and as much as i know its annoying tryin to get through to him as ive been there myself but you might wanna cut him a little slack gents......and as for you my ginger friend we'll partake of some herbal remedy this evening to stop those veins popping out of ure head a little

Tooley, I understand what you're saying, but these guys are running a business that relies on relieving us people of our cash. What Johnny and Pete and Luke and probably others are doing is called pre-sales support. Whilst I can't speak for Johnny I'm pretty certain that Pete's problem is that EVERYBODY needs to talk to him because he is the guy who knows, the rest of the company are just support for him. These three conmpanies all seem to be centred around one person. This is a typical "sucessful" small business problem that can only be solved by long term staff development. The difference, IMHO, between these and JWT for example, is that virtually nobody gets to talk to Jim Wolf. His company sells parts on a large scale, Johnny, Luke and Pete spend a great deal of their time providing (free) pre-sales consultancy and sell, in comparison, a small volume of parts.

 

Just my view - prepared to be corrected.

yep, in Luke's defence, he's been on hols for the last few weeks. I spoke to him yesterday and it took a while to get through, but as said before it's people like me who keep these people on the phone cos I have so many questions.
