Hey guys!

Just wanted to know if either of you would be able to help me get my throttle bodies cleaned up. I made an unsuccesfull attempt this afternoon but couldn't get the bloody hoses off - didn't know how far I could go and certainly wouldn't want to break anything. Perhaps we could get together one afternoon/evening and get this sorted. As you know I've got quite a lot of time on my hands all of a sudden so I'm doing some much needed Z maintenance... hell of a learning experience! Would appreciate your help with this.

Cheers!

Danny

Warm the engine first - the hoses come off much easier then.

Did that ... went for a blast around the block (scared a few old ladies in the process) and then attempted again. Result: burnt hands and knuckles and still the damned things won't come off. Can you actually bend the pipes? Mine feel like they're solid inside the soft foamy sleeve around them. frown.gif

You need to undo both ends and then work them free - they will be stuck after years without being moved. Then pull them towards you and ease the end nearest the throttle body off first, then remove the entire pipe. To be honest it is a bit of a struggle, there is some flexibility, but not a great deal.

Danny,

A hairdryer helps to keep the pipes warm while removing them, but as Andy says, undo both ends as it does make it easier. If you don't get round to doing it, when you come down to do your ice, we'll do it then.
