Hi all,

Just got back from a return trip to preston last night, set the cruise at exactly 70mph all the way there and back, (bored me rigid!!) but...... refilled with petrol and checked mpg.......wait for it........

33.4MILES PER GALLON!!!

Has anyone ever bettered that then??

(SWB, Auto, N/A, would feel better if last fill up following nearly all round town driving had been better though, 19mpg :( )

Nice one :) I'm gonna quote that figure now when ever anyone says "Nice car, bet it drinks petrol..."

:D

Dunno if anyone else on here has, but i havent/wont. I usually get around 12mpg, going upto around 18mpg on a steady run.

On the other hand, i didnt buy it to get good mpg. It does its job (going stupidly fast all the time) quite well enough.:D :D

Siraff,

There is a disadvantage with mine, it doesn't go very fast being a non turbo Auto, I love it though as it does it's job, looks great!!, I'm too much of an old fart to want to go fast nowadays!!

Paul:)

if your car does what you brought it for, then it is a good choice.

If you want to get a few more mpg, why not try a chip mapped for fuel consumption rather than performance? Anyway, i thought the non turbos were ok? Still quoted as 220bhp, isnt it? Still more than a (similar weight) earlier scooby! :D

When I say "slow", I mean by the standards of most of you modified TT nutters!!!:D , I can still blow away most "lesser/normal" cars that the peasants drive!!

Paul!!

I got 32.(something) with the boot full of stuff for holiday and a full tank of petrol so it was very heavy. It was a scorching day so the Aircon was on for a lot of the day too.

Stuart

Ohh...that reminds me, I had the aircon on "economy" for a lot of the trip, so that would help with the engine not running the compressor!!

Paul N

Forgot to mention that with a good hammering and stop-start driving i've seen 6mpg, once!!!!!

Please dont mension MPG???

I'm getting serious hassle from work at the moment, they claim my vectra cannot do 16 MPG???

I say in my hands its very possible in fact if they want it lower i can do that :D

I'm gonna have to bite the bullet soon though as they are threatening to sack me over it  if i dont back down.

Yeah but I bet all the executives with their 5 litre BMW lump get a way with it.

Stuart

Best i got was 96 mpg, was in my Diesel Smart Car though!!!

Bob

I got 0mpg once.

I left my car on until the petrol ran out. ;)

Best I've had was 380 miles from a full tank of gas - down to Luton and back...From Merseyside. That wasnt taking it easy - that was doing 80-90 when I could!
