Safety Boost, Reliabilty Mars Bar and Dependable Topic

Please bear with me whilst I plow thru all this shit:

After jolly jaunt thru Eastern Anglia car felt a bit 'not quite as quick'

So I go for an expulsion up the A1.

Stock (Jap) gauge reads from -7 to +7, gauge reads on the last line before the +7 (mmHg) at maxed boost, foot to the floor et-al.

GReddy gauge reads 0.5 kg/cm at above mentioned foot to floor activity.

0.5 bar or kg's or whatever equates to 7.1, which is smeg-boost, methinks.

Car has been run on 97ron, no pinkies or unwarranted explosions in the cylinder, as far as i can hear.

Run ECU diagz, code 55 - no worries.

Remove Det-sensor connector on engine, code 34 - as it should be.

Perform Henri le Hirs (who art in heaven etc) bypass with 1k ohm resistor and ECU diag back to 55.

Take for spin up A1 and 0.5 on the Greddy scale again, no earthquakes in cyclinders etc.

No prob on Det sensor.

Hmmm back to square one.

So maybe mister senna here is getting the 'IT support, dont look for a fault if there aint one' type heebee geebee paranoias - i dunno.

My old banger is running GReddy exhaust, HKS induction and blow off valves. The only other performance mod ( i know about smile.gif ) is the Field fuel/air mixer which is switched off.

So would you experts conclude that either

A) the car is in SB

or

B) the GReddy gauge is a little lying Japanese bastard sent to make sleep badly?

I would like to think I wouldn't come on this forum and ask stupid questions, but I've tried to sort it...

Thanks for any suggestions chaps, as always, I'm grateful smile.gif

Glen.

If you're passing near me (Harlow-ish) or perhaps Timmy Turbo (St.Evenage) then we could check with the Techtom to see if it's in safety boost or maybe something else obvious looks icky.

Cool thanks for the offer!

It would just mean M25 east and down essex way instead of me going round Heathrow way wouldn't it.?

Mite take you up on that in a couple of weeks if I haven't sussed it, how much does a tomticktechtom cost old chap, always like the idea of one of em??

Ta mate

They're about $400 / £300. More of a dignostic tool than anything else though, I certainly wouldn't suggest that everyone should have one.
