This is only meant as a friendly question... *not* meant to start any fights! :D So, those of you here that are signed up for the rolling road day, what's your estimated bhp figure? Quote it as either rear-wheel or flywheel (it'd be useful to say which) then it'll be kinda interesting to see what actual figures come out on the day.

Just to start the ball rolling... I guess (if it's all running happily) I might get 550 bhp (flywheel). It could end up a chunk less than that, but you can't go quoting a tiny figure and try to look all surprised on the day when you get 100 bhp more!

Let's have it then.

I was thinking along the same lines. It'll be good to get a table going with Forum Name, supporting mods, and rwbhp after the day.

I'm still running 9psi so would hope to see about 330bhp crank, not sure what it works out to be in rwbhp.

Performance Mods:

HKS Superflow intake

5" twin exit TRUST exhaust back boxes

2.5" Powerflow exhaust centre section

2.5" stainless de-cat pipes

I'm sure someone will tabulate a list of rwbhp figures on the day. Maybe that'll end up in the Redline feature.

I'm wondering who's actually gonna be on the rollers... no Steve E, possibly no SMW1 (go on Stu - you know you wanna!), no _cj_. But I think everyone else will be running - I've still got *everything* crossed that mine will be there.

So let's see some figures :) Macca? Come on, give us a clue.

I think I will be happy if the car comes off the rollers in one piece :p

Hopefully round about 350ish crank

Running 14psi

Exhaust

Bigger IC's

Air Filter

Mines ECU

how much will mine have lads a standard tt swb manual?:D

As long as me baby is running OK she'll be on the rollers...as for BHP....mmm i'm hoping for 450+ but no doubt i will be made to look either very happy or very stupid...no doubt :D

Kirbz

I'm hoping for about 370BHP at the flywheel. Will be very interesting to see what the results are.. ;)

Just wait and see  :D

Bugger all, as mine only has big intercoolers and an induction kit, still it'll give me a reference to start :D

250RWHP I would think

Mike

I'm expecting mine to be about 300rwbhp.

Power mods are intake, exhaust, SE chip and about 12.5psi boost. Rest of the cobblers is on my rides page.

I've got same as AndyP (plus decat if that matters...) so 300RWBHP then ;)

Whats that at the flywheel with stock everything else? 350/60?

I dunno what transmission loss figure they'll use, or whether they can back-calculate it (per car). I've seen 12-14% on other cars. I guess it'll be that-and-a-bit for an autobox tho. Remember the rollers are limited to something like 500 rwbhp, so if an auto and a manual both hit the limit it'll look like the auto's got more at the flywheel :) Apparently the rwbhp figure will be obvious while the car is running - a big display showing it in realtime.

Macca - :p :D

LOL I think thats the right weight for the 2+2 TT. Actually an autobox might add a bit??

Yep I've got an auto, hard to launch without spinning on the line but practice makes perfick ;).

I dont give any extra revs on the start line - tried that, too much spinning of tyres. In fact I've never been able to hold it with left foot on brake without messing it up. My best times have been using right foot brake then ease into right foot throttle til top end of first gear before full throttle all the way. A little bit of slippage helps, I've heard, as it makes sure the revs dont bog down.

Right foot only tends to increase your reaction time (typically 1.0seconds which isn't that good really) but gives a quicker 1/4 mile time. I've had much quicker reaction times but it tends to mess up the actual start.

Next time I'm going to sit on the line after the green light and really take my time. Saw a 911T do it and got a beautiful start and good time. Your reaction time is only important if you want to beat the guy next to you, irrelevant in 1/4 mile time :)

Rambling again :D

Pete

where/when/how much is this rolling road day? i may be able to come, but i have to get the poor thing taxed and put brakes and PCV's on her first. Always comes in droves, doesnt it? Just for the record, though, it has been de-catted, HKS filter (which is #;'; and needs swapping) Jasma back-boxes on custom 3" system and 1.0mm mig tips. And grinding brakes (after 1200miles), s#@te air filter and stuffed PCV's:eek:  :slap:

soon to be upgraded :D

When: 19th October (check the calender!)

Where: Engine Advantages, Witham, Essex

How much: 30 quid, I think.

See Mac 1 for a slot on the "I want to show the world how much bhp my car can make" list. Then pay Nisstek (SE) directly.

Pete - this is useful stuff! For some reason I've never been able to spin mine from a standing start. The only way I could get a half-decent launch was give it a heap of revs whilst holding the brakes (left-foot) then drop the brake. I tried the hand-brake but it didn't hold the car still. I even tried getting the revs up in neutral then plopping it in drive, but the box /really/ didn't like that! OK, so the box is now rebuilt (SE fast-road) and I might actually get a proper running car with an acceptable amount of horses. Maybe it will spin now?! Hmm.

Cheers, 51x. I may struggle to have it done in time for that one and Essex is a long way to breakdown from if it all goes pear-shaped. If i can get it booked in for the PCV's and brakes in time to have a couple of days shakedown driving, i'll be there. Just gotta fone Jeff, now. Its easier to contact the dead.

I paid £30 + VAT to SE = £35.75 :) EDIT - £35.25 even...

Funny that you couldn't get it to spin :S. Mine was stock except for exhaust and decat when I first raced it, it still span like a bugger. Maybe you've got miles better tyres lol?

Never thought of using the handbrake, but then mines crap and am sure it wont hold the car, but I'll try it :D

What mods you got?

I think we should have a SE Rolling Road Day sweepstake - pay an entry fee and the nearest guess to their own BHP output wins the pot? :D Could cheat by sneaking a session in early mind...

Wot, now? Check my rides section ;) Before the engine rebuild it was a bit like you... exhaust, filter, big intercoolers, T28's, 11-ish PSI. I've always tried to get half-decent tyres (Pilot Sports on the 16's and S03's on the 18's... so far).

Good idea about the sweepstake, maybe even if it's just for fun (not money, even tho money can be fun). I reckon you'd have to do it on a percentage basis tho cos mine could be, like, +/- 100 fwbhp!

Yeah good point lol, percentage would be best :)

BTW I'm running 0 FWBHP   Oh..."flywheel BHP..." :o

I'm at the stage where things get more expensive from now on, bigger brakes, intercoolers, boost controller, etc, etc :D Keeping my eye out for 2nd hand stuff ;) Am keeping myself happy with engine dressup bits every now and again at the mo:)

Pete

Pete - did you not take part in the Apexi AVC-R GB?

Cheapest you'll find!!
