8pm Tuesday night!

Tension bars off Z. Poly bushes pressed in tomorrow.

Z in drive, can I drive Z 40ft into garage slowly! very slow? With tenson rods off, or do I leave Z in drive?

Featured Replies

Can u borrow a garage jack to lift whole front end?

Then you could probably creep forwards.

ย

If you drive without tension rods then the wheels

will likely splay. If you have someone to watch the front

you might get away with it.

Do not under any circumstances move or drive the car with no tension rod bushes, FULL STOP!!! you will damage the suspension components.

OK! leave car where it is.

Will move it when back together. thankx

You still have the car jacked up right ?.

ย

You shouldn't be putting any weight on those wheels without tension bushes.

Another day another Q!

OK I got the Tension rods off & at night!

There are only two nuts to undo then the nut & bolt of the bush.

I managed to get the bolt out because I strained the Tension bush or angled it to enable me to remove the bolt. There are metal pipes on each side of the nut & bolt!

My question is with the new poly bushes fitted I am not going to have the same amount of play to get the tension bolts back in!

ย

In the Manual it looks like you have masses of space, well thats crap! cos its was very tight getting the bolt out & imho its going to be even tighter getting the bolt back in!

Or am I just making a fuss over nothing & its all going to fit back real easy (not!)

Any thoughts from you who have done this please.

Arthur

If you've run the car up ramps and jacked the front

end up, then it should be easy.

ย

You won't be able to do it without the weight off the wheels.

Ah got the feeling that I could be being watched!

Poly bushes arrive.

Two bushes, two small sachet's of white stuff!

Direct from Z centre great!

Got press, great!

Get old bushes out great!

New poly bushes how the f**k do they go in there! Ah!

Slap this white stuff around the edge of the bush (thicker than treacle) to be pressed into tension rod & press in!

There are no instructions in the box! why not?

Now, I am putting them back on the car Saturday,

my question is what grease do I use on the tension rod bolt??

The guy charged me ยฃ10 to press out old bushes & press in new ones, thought that was good & gave him ยฃ20!! Then tells me he owns a taxi company!!!

Arthur

No you grease the whole of the bush before you put it in. :S

ย

It makes them go in easier and it stops them from creeking.
