Hi Mate,

I had them on the back and then I got Eagle F1's. The difference was very noticable. Personally I did not like the Falkens at all, but saying that I had nothing to compare them against apart from the F1's.

In the wet they were no very grippy at all :(. I wouldn't recommend them myself.

I had them on the rears and I think they area a good tyre for the cost. If you can afford more espensive ones go for them but if you are stuck for money they are not a bad choice.

Stuart

cool, cant wait.. d'oh

I was going to purchase them for the rear on my old Supra, but the compound was so hard they wouldn't "pop" onto the alloys when the fitter tried to inflate them.

I've just bought new wheels for the Zed, supplier usually fits Falkens with each package. But the cost of upgrading to Goodyear GDS3 jobbies was so small (only £50 more for all 4) so no guesses what I went for.

IMHO the goodyears are the best tyre I have ever used:cool:

If you can, get them instead

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I'm on my second set of 18". Was FK03 or 4s now the 451s with the v style tread.

I'm happy with them. But when the fronts are worn I might try something else to see if it sorts out a persistent slight annoying wheel balance problem in case its related to these tyres.

I think the wear rating is 260 so that means harder compound than the previous ones but they dont slip in the dry and are OK in the wet.

I 2nd that.

I probably gave the wrong impression of what I said.

I think they are the best medium priced tyres their are. To get anything better you will be looking at paying £50 more a tyre.

Mine lasted 10,000 miles but I always change them before they reach the tread bar

Stuart

I use them all round and am on my second set, the only problem i noticed is that they last a long time but once they are past a certain point they wear like anything.

I think they grip well in the wet, I've shuffled around roundabouts quite quickly in the wet when other cars have fallen off behind me :)

Not used Falkens but just been looking at some

prices, they seem suspiciously cheap.

Caveat Emptor, you tend to get what you pay for.

My dad bought some cheap tyres a few years ago for his car. It was not a well known brand of tyre (at the time) so where not in demand. They cost im £36 each, but they where fantastic.

The year or so after he asked for these tyres again, only to find out they had gone up to over twice as much because the company had become more known. So he didnt get the Toyos again ;)

Just becasue they are cheap doesnt mean they are no good. Like I said, they are the best tyre in that price range for a Z. They cost about the same as Marshalls, Kuhmo, Fulda etc but the Falkens are the best of the lot. They look good too.

Only problem i had with them they are very very very slippy when you first put them on. So dont go anywhere too fast untill they are scrubbed in. A nice wheels spin should do the trick ;)

Stuart

Had them on the front Scoops, they were fine;)

However now I have tried BF Goodridge profiler I wont be trying anything else:D;)

Stu I am going over to see Johnny@GPS soon, jump in I will take my car to the limit and back with you sat in it,then you tell me if they are good;)

Considering your tyre is 4cm wider (Over 15% wider) and lower profile they would "feel" better, thats the reason behind wider and lower profile tyres. But the stock size they are not good. The tyre wall is way too soft and you can feel it flexing while going round sharp corners, which is very off putting especially when it flicks back when you straighten up. In the wet they are quite good no complaintes there, straight line not bad, but I always get a little screech of the tyres when pulling off and when I change to 2nd which it never did before. It's the flexing which is my bigest complaint with them, to the fact I went back to the tyre shop and asked if there was anything wrong with it. Any tyre I can push in the side wall with my finger with ease is not strong enough. Dont forget these are amarican tyres, they like soft squidgy sidewalls.

I have them on the back. Great wearing tyre...coz hard and plenty grip in the dry.

Downside, slight drizzel and I have to drive like a Grandad on Sundays or I simply stay put!!

Goodyears on my Porsche 911, they a good all rounda.

had my falk 451's on for nearly a year now, hardly any wear and very good grip, but they will spin in the wet but im sure any tyre will, full set of 18's came in at 500 quid so pretty reasonable i think for the performance they offer.
