Hello again, well the car is almost running nicely. It's been to SE Nissan and Options Motorsport, can't honestly say im impressed with either so am looking for another place to take my car. Keep trying Zedworld but no answer on his phone. Anyway, the thing that is really doing my head in is the rattles!!! Do all Zed's have annoying squeaks and rattles or just mine. I have lowered suspension which is pretty damn hard and the main amount of rattles come from the door cards and rear trim. Is there a company that will fix this or do I just have to turn the stereo up really loud???

Door card may just be a loose bolt that holds the windo in place. Does it rattle even more if you have the window down half way ?.

 

The rear quarters usually loose the window rubber strip down into the panels but it sometimes gets stuck half way and flaps around, a lump of thin rubber hitting metal a few times could be the problem here.

The rear hatch can sometimes knock about, there is a write up on how to cure it on TTnet

Dont forget as it gets colder, the interior panels will shrink a little and often dont quite touch the joining panel causing it rattle or squeek.

 

For some reason my T-Top handle is starting to rattle.

I fettled the worst squeak on mine. I thought it was in the dash. It was only when my missus drove past me in it I realised you could hear it outside! It was the bonnet catch. Bit of tape round that and its it lovely and quiet! can hear my stereo now!

I think my bonnet catch squeaks will try a bit of tape!

Talking of turning the music up, my music box is original Nissan tape/radio/cd. Seen better days.

Halfords are doing a 12 CD/tuner JVC for £149 from £199 has anyone seen this & any comments about the quality of this system?

You would be better off talking to Bob in the traders section, he can help you a lot more than Halfords!

 

A more permaneant way of fixing bonnet shake, is to wind up the rubber bonnet stops each side of the engine bay and to grease the latch mechanism!
