Was going to take my tt to santa pod today and race it but my front brakes have just run out yesterday. Thinking about getting tarox 40 grooved discs. But recently heard that tarox brakes are not too good and tend to warp.Anyone heard this. Are there any other maker that do 40 grooved.

From personal experience I was never that impressed with the G88's I have on my Renault (with matching TarOx pads) - the bite wasn't that great when hot, although they did work well when cold. And yes, they've warped after about 4k - but my Renault does tend to do that to discs..

I was far more impressed with the EBC gear (although they warped too) - much much better bite when hot, although not great when cold..

I think you're probably best off going for one of the deals from either Phuong or ask Warren (300z - in hiding from the law wink.gif ) about the deal he's always going on about... I'm sure he'll post details soon smile.gif

Neither of those are 40 groove BTW - but IMHO 40 groove is overkill, 20 is plenty for road use.

Oops forgot the URL to Phuongs site - http://www.eatricezone.com

I think Warren's deal is Brembo castings in either 10 or 20 groove... If I recall..

Anyone know where to get ebc discs from if they are grooved cos not having much luck.

EBC discs are grooved & 'dimpled' - a bit like being drilled, but rather than going right thru they are just dimples in the surface..

Try somewhere like Demon Tweeks for the EBC discs (not the cheapest perhaps, but they are usually pretty helpful on the phone)

EBC might not make discs for the ZX - I have to say, I've never looked smile.gif The EBC's I had were on my Renault 19 smile.gif

Their number is on http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk

DO NOT buy Tarox brake discs!

I bought their 6-pot caliper / large (~330mmm) disc kit back in '98 ~£1400 and had so much trouble with it you wouldn't believe. After taking my 300ZX to a Tarox dealer about a dozen times to get the damn kit fitted correctly, I found out (after getting thru 2 sets of their brake pads) that the their discs (330mm 'n all) just weren't up to the job and couln't take the heat that even standard discs can handle; they just turned bluish under heat and vibrated like crazy, braking from speeds ~80mph. I went back to std discs but with carbon-kevlar pads from SE Nissan, after Demon Tweaks (who sold me the TAROX kit) refused to give me a refund.

Go for AP or Brembo discs!

Anyone who wants a free set of hardly used (

ill take those discs of you please mail asap
