Could PTU cause intermittent fault?

PTU dies in a number of ways,

Have you done an actual ECU diag if so what error code did you get ?

Nothing shows on the dash? No lights no nothing?

Didn't express that very well...no 'trouble' light shows.

ย

I had assumed that if there was a problem that the ecu

would show then a 'trouble' light would show.

ย

Not done an ecu test b4; read the instructions on TTZs but

no mention of unbolting the unit to see in the window or

d'u use a mirror?

Nope, just lift the wooden board and you can see it there. The light on the ECU is also duplicated by the check light on the dash once you've turned the screw ;)

Favourite is ptu, usual symptoms are what you have, sometimes fine, sometimes nothing, or stopping once hot, then shortly afterwards, nothing period!!!

ย

See if you can borrow one to try.

Thanx.

ย

With the aid of a mirror I see where the screw is

and the light. (Dunno why I thought it would be really

easy on a Z)

ย

Code 11 = CAS, hopefully just the connection.

Bingo! Fingers crossed it IS just the connecion. If not, I *may* have a spare...
