I've asked this before and nobody knew anything...

 

I'd love a rally-style LED display showing what gear the car's in, no point in an auto but I think they look great :cool:

 

Just the simple bright red LED ones, none of the complicated LCD gubbins ;)

 

Anyone know anything about them? Where to get them from?

well its a gear change warning and has both sound and l e d's

 

The sound is a bit annoying and the leds light up more as you rev it more, i think it was a extra part of my racelogic clubman traction control.

 

They mounted the l e d's in the air vent at the top so it shines on the windscreen

Doesn't the Shift at Will system have one of these?

No I mean one that simply displays eg "3" in LEDS if you're in 3rd gear.

Shif at will has one of these, maybe ask whoever makes that if they can do just the gear indicator on its own?

You could fit a shift light, but there would be little point as they tell you when to shift gear and in auto's we have no choice!!!

Right I've emailled ess-racing, who sell a gear indicator as part of their Shift At Will system (cheers for the info boys), to see if they could sell it as a stand alone product.

 

Will let you know ;)

Barks mate, Pete can't get to his PC at the moment but he said I should tell you that he wants 2 sets; :)

 

One for the front (obviously) and one from the other set to use on the back giving him a spare incase one fails. :cry:

Cool - think I've got one somewhere - will have a look and let you know if I cant find it.

 

Wasn't one on the website mind.

Ther web site is cack,only about 10% of stuff on there thats in the two catalogues(Motorsport/Performance):D

Seriously tho i'll do some investigating at work as we've got loads of supliers that do that sort of stuff.:cool:

Update - no luck with essracing - their gear indicator is purely the display and all the electricky is within the SAW system.

 

Awaiting an email from demon-tweeks now :)
