****! :D:D:D

Speechless!

Hmm...not sure about the lettering, but the grille is practical, and at least it's a bit different. Black mesh would have looked better.

But Vinz has got a Chrome fetish, right Vinz? :D

practical? so now its good to have water pissing into your air filter?

Well spotted Clarkson;)

Not spotted well enough Clarkson, its baffled away from the Blitz induction filter,I dont design or make stupid mistakes!Me Knobs nice though, have'nt noticed any Peeps taking the p*ss out of that............VINNIE'S KNOB IS IN YOUR HAND.........now theres a thought to ponder on Lads & Lasses. Be gentle.

Vinz,

Have you designed it to allow air circulation around the filter, or is it purely cosmetic? I had assumed the baffle was "angled" and slotted at the back to allow air to flow into (and out of) the filter space. I am assuming that this is the case, as it will allow yet cooler intake temps.

My only concern is that if it DOES breathe, it may potentially increase air turbulence around the filter, which MIGHT conceievably cause the MAF to underread, though I admit this is highly unlikely. Just a thought, not a criticism.

Just to add, if the Blitz is the metal mesh one, the filtration levels on it are reckoned to be "mediocre" next to many other filters anyway, though it does look the dogs :)

Nope ;) The MAS must have turbulence to read the airflow acurately - thats mainly what the mesh at either end of it is for ;)

But a huge unstable airflow (especially if it can cause negative pressure just before the airflow meter) WILL cause innaccurate measurement.

Assuming the sensor is a standard "hot-wire" design, the mesh is to reduce / prevent venturi effects, which would produce massively innacurate readings due to different air speeds (and volumes? can't remember) at the circumfernce and centre of the sensor tunnel. It is also widely regarded as being inneffective if the sensor is used outside it's design parameters.

For exmaple APS Ram-induction kits are widely known for causing a venturi effect at certain airspeeds within the sensor, causing it to under-read. This problem becomes more and more of an issue as the diameter of the sensor body increases.

Under-read = underfuelling. Hence my (mild) concern.

Just curious really.
