I have a tt auto and i want to change the gearbox into manual.Do you know if i can fit a six speed gearbox from the r34?

Featured Replies

You do realise that the R34 is 4 wheel drive dont you

Yes i know that.I would ask for an S15 6sp gearbox but a friend of mine has 1 very modified and he is braking gears all the time

The short answer is no.

Better to sell your auto and buy manual.

If you are an experienced car mechanic, or have a friend

who is, and you get a Z gearbox cheaply then ok.

btw, did you factor in the cost of shipping when you

bought those Z1?

(It was me bidding against you:) )

No i didn't.I believe i he sent them from sea it's not going to cost to much.Do you know y he was selling only the front 2?

Pambos, there is and has been for quite some time a bell housing adapter available for the Zed to take a 6 speed box, though the name of the manufacturer escapes me at the mo, it uses the same box as the S15, the lexus one, which in most cases is very strong and helped in making the S15 one of the most popular modified cars in japan now, though there is also an upgrade kit for making it stronger for the really modified boys. Cost of all this is mega bucks, however if yer serious search around and you'll find it. A simple auto to manual conversion is very popular, with standard boxes taking extreme amounts of BHP.

cheers

After your comments i think a simple manual conversion will be the best. For more info my friends car is tuned by s coyuma from jun Japn and it's giving 517hp on the wheels. He just broke his 6 gearbox last week and Jun advise was to change the gearbox and put 1 from a zx but 1st he had to cut the housing so that i'll fit

I gave Luke at ZCentre a catalogue of stuff you can get in Japan for our beloved Z. One of the parts was a 6 speed HKS gearbox. £4500 if my memory serves me.

PS I have a manual box available if you're interested..........

How much for the box? I want the complete modification pedals,ecu... and what about the shipping i think is going to be huge.Anyway what is your price?

I've only got the box but wouldn't refuse a reasonable offer.

I'm in Surrey, where are you ?

Yes, the vendor stated clearly that there were 2 wheels.

If was for all four there's no way that you would have beaten me in the bidding at that price!

You may well be horrified at the cost of shipping them from England and then you'll need to buy another pair for the rear.

eek.

I asked the seller a couple of times about the other 2 but he

did not say. Perhaps the car had a wrecked rear end and

the wheels didn't survive.

You live on Cyprus and you have a Zed?

I hate you already....;)

It just ain't fair.

Yes i live in Cyprus and i have a z.Many Zeds here and some very modified we even have a cossworth with Zx engine with power over 1000 only for drag purposes.4-5 of October we will have the anual drag racing i'll post some pics from the event. If i find out that the shipping is too much you can have them. The problem is that i don't have any replies for fingerpic so i don't know if he changed his mind.

Mark give me a price for your box because i find out that if you ship it by sea it won't cost me more that 40-50 pounds
