I've just noticed something. This is NO personal attack or whatever - just something I've just read and was NOT impressed. Here it is:

 

Once I have purchased the car tickets, you will be expected to pay me back, regardless of whether you turn up or not. This is initially coming off my PERSONAL credit card and any shortfall in ticket money will be coming directly from the club funds

 

Now, when I coughed up my money for the club funds (almost the day it was first mentioned) I did it to help the site out with bandwidth/server problems etc. I certainly DID NOT cough up so that it could be used to pay for people who want to abuse the system.

If they owe money to someone, then it is up to those 2 people to sort it out. The club funds are NOT for covering costs of bad debt management (or whatever you want to call it) - or are they? Who decided this would be the case? If what is said above goes ahead, forget any more money from me for deffo.

 

I'm not trying to cause trouble, I'm trying to stop it happening in the first place.

Andy, in that case you are positively wrong. ANYONE could have stuck their hand up to help out with Trax. Two people did and then pulled out. Due to the time factor, Ajay volunteered to use her own money to gain an advantage for club members wanting to go to Trax. This was after two other forum members (due to time and not having any spare credit) decided they couldn't help.

 

It was suggested that Ajay AS CLUB TREASURER should step in to organise a club event. So she did. And in 9 hours from 3am to 12 noon cutoff deadline after everyone else had spent 8 days frigging around failing actually to book anything.

 

All clear and above board. On several occasions, in nice red letters it was pointed out that people who stuck their hands up for a ticket and then didn't cough up would lead to club funds being used. Again quite clear in advance and above board.

 

The fact this needed to be a CLUB event to get the cheap £8.50 tickets was pointed out in the very first post.

 

Why in the 10,000 names of Christ are people making such a fuss without reading back and checking the facts?

 

And if people can't be 4rsed to read and check, I will post here the relevant sections but that would just make everyone think I was going for Mike's pedant title.

I presume that anyone who wasn't interested in going to Trax, or who couldn't make it, would have stopped reading a thread about who's going to Trax well before the 4th page...

 

I certainly wasn't aware of the arrangement until Andy posted a new thread about it. That's why there's a fuss about it now and not then IMHO.

I'll tell you in case you were wondering.........a guy on here called SMW1 has given up hours of his time helping me out, driven miles in the process.........MAC1 is always there and puts himself out for help and advice....Steve gave me his alloys and tyres for FREE and I never even met the guy............so don't come on here with your comments when you haven't got a clue.
