I've just noticed something. This is NO personal attack or whatever - just something I've just read and was NOT impressed. Here it is:

 

Once I have purchased the car tickets, you will be expected to pay me back, regardless of whether you turn up or not. This is initially coming off my PERSONAL credit card and any shortfall in ticket money will be coming directly from the club funds

 

Now, when I coughed up my money for the club funds (almost the day it was first mentioned) I did it to help the site out with bandwidth/server problems etc. I certainly DID NOT cough up so that it could be used to pay for people who want to abuse the system.

If they owe money to someone, then it is up to those 2 people to sort it out. The club funds are NOT for covering costs of bad debt management (or whatever you want to call it) - or are they? Who decided this would be the case? If what is said above goes ahead, forget any more money from me for deffo.

 

I'm not trying to cause trouble, I'm trying to stop it happening in the first place.

What is CC ?

Paypal is access to your current account and can be hacked into from people other than the website you are buying from - so less secure. I did also say "carefully chosen" websites.

As I have just said to someone on MSN was: The point I was making about PayPal was that funds are cleared and transferred immediately and there's no waiting for cheques to clear or Snail mail to deliver the letters.

 

So, I guess you would have missed out on Trax (if you went, I don't know if you did) as you would have been unwilling to pay through PayPal. Anita would have had her money and this thread would never have been started.

As for slagging off members, I wasn't naming names.

 

It's just the general prevailing feeling on this board is one of a bunch of lads in a pub spoiling for a fight. I have never seen so many grown ups talk up a fight so quickly and so often. The prime instigators always seem to be those with the highest post counts, and the longest memberships.

 

It's interesting that people generally feel the board is going downhill, but complain when they are moderated. (Note: I am not specifically referring to you, Andy!!).

 

Policy and moderation are, and should be open for discussion.

 

Ajay being re-embursed SHOULD come from the club she was helping. It isn't fair, on her or the club, but there it is. As I previously said (and others have since agreed) the club renumerates Ajay (call it a good will gesture) and then polices it's members.

 

And of course, ensures that this situation could not occur again.

 

The moderators ARE treated badly. It's an involving job (especially moderating YOU lot :D) and I think they deserve a lot more credit and defference than they are given. And no, I don't just mean Ajay.

Yes a board is all about it's members, but it won't last long without moderators.

 

As previously mentioned, a lot of Trax was spent trekking round the car park looking for Zeds who were trying to get in touch. This shows quite a degree of dedication, and I wonder how many thank you's there have been. Would have been nice to get a text / phone call from those who couldn't turn up. Just polite, really?

 

=shrug= It just strikes me that a board with so much potential for it's members repeatedly drags itself down to the level of squabbling again and again because of petty politics. It's a shame.

I have a Z, have done for about 3 years now, this place has saved me hundreds and hundreds and the people I have met I now would call good friends. I'm just a bit defensive, thats all.

As these are CLUB members, and this was essentially a CLUB event, the only exception being that the financing was from Ajay, not from the club funds?

If this HAD all been organised through the club there would be an outcry at those who haven't paid.

Ajay merely paid up front because this was a last minute arrangement.

 

If the club is NOT to renumerate, what would be the options?

The club has facilities to act upon it's members. Ajay does not.

I suppose several burly gentlemen could be rounded up to travel to peoples homes in a "debt collection" capacity, but this is hardly realistic, especially over the matter of £8.50.

 

 

 

James..loyalty is a good thing. And no, I don't own a Zed: considered buying one a few times, yes, and VERY keen to learn a lot about them. They fall into an interesting niche in the Jap-Supercar world. It's frustrating though, when so many threads that start out being informative and worthwhile discussion end up being a "mines bigger than yours" or "god you're stupid" etc etc.

 

I will be more than happy to contribute and subscribe if it made my point any more valid. However, I suspect that it wouldn't: I have read enough threads to know that my argument would be debunked for something else equally as trivial.

 

I find it interesting to note that of all the car clubs whose members I know, only two have come out of Trax having arguments. The Honda-Revoloutions club has threatened to ban a member after "disreputable" behaviour on the track. Acting as a club. The other is 300ZX. SIDC, SXOC,5ive-o, GTOC, and many more have attended, some with some difficulties, which were dealt with swiftly and without a huge-deal being made out of it.

Ok, to be democratic abut this, how about a vote, for paid up members only, as to weather Ajay should be reimbursed from Club funds.

 

I can't think of a fairer way to settle this little problem.

 

Again, all credit to Ajay for her efforts.

 

Suspend the peoples accounts who have not paid.
