Odd Noise

When the revs are between 2500 and 3000 or thereabouts I get a sort of highish frequency whistle when I press the throttle. Backing off on the throttle stops it immediatley.

 

Boost guage is right on the minimum so I don't think that I have a vacuum leak

    Nope, Typically between 40 and 70

    So its more speed related than rev related.

     

    Just becuase your turbos are not showing any positive boost doesnt mean they are not turning and making a sound.

     

    If you can hear a boost leak at 40-70mph its going to be a very major one.

    And now for the dummest question ever since I have no idea about the construction of turbos.

     

    If a turbo bearing is woorn would this ead to any other symptoms such as smoking?
