Since I bought my ZED it has had a really annoying squeak. It seems to be from the front but as we all know it is quite hard to locate the source sometimes.

 

It is only when I go over bumps so I am thinking it could be the shocks, and also when I close the drivers side door it also makes the same noise.

 

The only solution I have found is to turn my music up, but this is becoming increasingly embarrassing when playing my Des O'c tapes through town...... HELP!!!!!

Change to Max Bygraves on CD?:D

 

Could be your bonnet catch as they go a bit squeeky sometimes.

Where did you get your wheels from?. I do not normally like three spokes but your ones look really good on the Z.

They're not hiding them, they're nicking them, to cover up the sound of their squeeky bonnet catches!!:D :D

Don't even go there!:rolleyes: They came with the car and are made by ERGLANZ (I've never heard of them either!) They have a HUGE central locking nut that some wheel shop numpty went and buggered. Since then I've asked on here and also 300ZXclub for a dealer in these wheels with no luck. I've searched the web and can only find suppliers in Japan or RUSSIA. Shame really coz I like 'em too (that is if you are referring to the ones in my Rides section and not the ones in my avatar - if you mean the avatar ones then ......... I haven't got a clue..... I nicked the piture):D

I did mean the ones on your car.

 

Shame, I will have a little look myself. If I find any info I will pass it on (along with a copy of my CD colletion which I know you want).

You sure it's not the bonnet catch ? Try a search ....

I had a squeak I *thought* was coming from the front, it was the spare tyre that was loose in the boot. I tightened it up and it went away

 

my bonnect catch squeeks slightly sometimes also now though heh.

I have the squeek too. Started on the drivers side, then the passenger side decided to join in. I had narrowed mine down to coming from under the wheel arch. I recently put new tension rods on and while i was under i gave all the rubber mounting places on the drivers side a good spray with WD40. Under the passenger side i used Halfords Rubber and Nylon Lubricant. Behold, the passenger side is quiet but the drivers side (WD40) is still squeeking. Hope this helps.

Like Andy said,bonnet catch first on the list,all you need to do is wrap some tape around the eye that drops into the catch;)

 

The window will be a loose 10mm bolt that holds the door glass inplace;)

Poly bushes can sometimes squeak, can't they? Mine made some noise for a while before they seemed to bed in. You could probably test the bonnet catch with the engine off pretty easily, couldn't you?

My very, VERY annoying squeak ended up being one of the bushes on these - (on my original one's) and the same, over bumps only. I'm pretty sure this will be your prob.

 

Just to add to the squeaks collection, my zed squeaks from the wheel arch, whenever the cars done more than about 5 miles, i thought it was the brakes and made poor old jeff take all the breakes off only to find the squeak still there, turns out its a dry wheel bearing.

 

I reckon its a billing related injury too, every year i get home to find some of that plot dividing tape niceley entangled in one of my wheels, when that bearing comes out i'll bet its covered in melted plastic!!!
