While underneath the car yesterday changing the tension rods I did notice a drop of antifreeze at the bottom of the pan near front pulley.

Could this be from the water pump? When I had the cambelt changed a couple of months ago Jeff did say that there was a bit of play in the pump bearing, but I did not have it changed (I know I should have)

How big a job is changing the water pump? whats involved it it?

Thanks

John

basically,, if you know what was taken of to do your 60k service (aux belts, cam belt, rad, front egine covers (lower and upper)) thats what you have to take off :(

Not a difficult job,, justa PITA. The voices were right,, should have it changed at the service :)

Hello mate,

It might be the hoses that join the pipe holding your temp senders to the block!

You have to get a mirror and angle it and try and see if they are leaking?

Thanks Mark,

Do I view these from underneath or from above ? (Not sure where they are)

Thanks

John

Hello Mate,

you view them from the top!

just follow the pipe that contains the temp senders into the block and angle the mirror there!

They should have been changed when the cambelt was done!

If your fan cowling is not already off then you will find it

easier to see what's happening if you do take remove it.

A self tapper at each corner then the bottom curved

section un-clips at (your) rh side and lower edge so that you

can lift the unit out.

I think you must be referring to the 2 inlet pipes, if so, Jeff did replace them, along with the thermostat.

Thanks

AAh, should of read this post first!!!! Ive replied to your water pump post on one of the traders threads, disregard what i said about the pipes and thermostat then!!!

Mark sorted a leak out for me at exactly the place he described. I could never see it, but his magic hands found it and fixed it. Two short rubber pipes were causing the problem.

Lets hope thats it, because its a much simpler fix than the waterpump.
