This is getting ludicrous. Of the 4 people who haven't paid, 1 has already noticed and said he's forwarded a cheque and 1 doesn't seem to have posted since early August, so may well not know.

 

However, what excuse have the other 2 got?

 

1 is online right now and the other was the person who seemed to initially be going to organise the tickets!

If you want to steal my lunch money as well, I'll be walking to school at 0830 tomorrow. You can get me before I reach the gate. But, you may have trouble with my regular bully...the two of you can sort it out.

If everyone had paid Ajay back when they were first asked, the issue of the club having to pay would never have surfaced. The arguments of the last few days wouldn't have happened, and Andy Duff may have decided to stay on and answer technical questions. So I'd say yes, it is my business, and every other member's business... :mad:

Wrong, the money is owed to Ajay as it has already been established, and it was not organised under the auspices of the official club. It is between Ajay and myself. I do not know you and do not appreciatie being told what to do by you. You don't now the full story, so it's best not to run off at the mouth. I don't wish to be agressive, but you are forcing peoples hands.

That's not the case according to Ajay. She organised it in her capacity as Club Treasurer and expects the club to pay for those people who didnt pay.

I'm by no means the only one who got annoyed by people failing to pay and the possibility of club funds being used instead!

Not been on here for a long time and may well have missed some stuff. However, it seems that my membership is about to be cancelled unless I pay up more money. That's not going to happen. However, I resent the fact that my previously contributed funds are being used to pay to subsidise people who haven't paid a debt.

 

If you owe Ajay money then you should pay, pure and simple.

 

However, if you do not pay, then my funds should not be used to subsidise you. Sorry Ajay that you've been let down. Believe me, I've been there and I sympathise. But to use the club funds is unacceptable when those funds were paid (by me at least) without any suggestion that they would be used to settle bad debts.

 

Believe me, this isn't a big deal for me. However, this forum brought me great friends and help. I'd like to see that continue for others. Craig's principles (& Nico's before him) when running this site are not being followed and the place will change. That's a shame.

So just to play devils advocate here .... How would you feel about this if club funds had been used to play for a club stand and provide x free tickets for club members, as the UK Z Club do for these type of events ?

If it was a club arrangement then I wouldn't have a problem with it - fair enough. That's not how I understood this issue had arisen. As I understand it, it was done out of the goodness of Ajay's heart with no mention of club funds being involved.

 

Please don't get me wrong - I have great sympathy. I arranged a Le Mans trip which left me out of a pocket but that's a risk I ran arranging something. It wasn't fair but I had to live with it.

 

Assume for a moment that we had had club funds at the time of the Le Mans trip (we didn't, it was 3 years ago when we all had acne and no arthiritis). How would people have reacted if I had posted on the forum asking the treasurer to reimburse me from club funds because specific club members hadn't reimbursed me fully ?

 

People who do don't pay up when they've promised to are t0ssers IMHO. But that doesn't justify using club funds - in my view.

 

And this is not a personal attack - everyone involved in keeping this forum running is doing a tough job which I didn't volunteer for. I don't like it all but I chose not to get involved - so that's my tough luck ! And I wish you all luck with it.

Thanks to Gio, I stand corrected.

 

I understand that this WAS originally arranged as a club activity and not something arranged outside the club. That's a completely different scenario to the one I incorrectly commented upon.
