Does anyone know a fitter/supplier in the Midlands who knows zeds and can fit a stereo and/or change the speakers? I don't want to do ANYTHING to the standard enclosures, but i DO want new speakers and head unit.

Thick question- are boot changers all a standard size? I mean, can I take out the factory changer and just stick in a new one?

Also, how do you remove the changer control located in the central console in the little box-thingy? Or can I just leave that, or even will it still control a new changer?

not totally sure about this, but from my experience, nearly all stereo's go along the same lines. If you are changing the stereo and get a compatible changer to match the head unit, then they will work without the control box as they are usually stand alone. If, however you choose to keep the standard changer, you can usually get an adaptor for whichever head unit you are fitting as long as it has a changer control. All i've ever needed in the car is a constant live, an ignition live and a good earth. As for fitting places, any good installation centre should be able to do it and they can advise you on speakers to use with your standard surrounds. Usually speakers of the same size will fit as they are mostly universal. Whatever you do, dont pay over the odds for fitting because its a Z. It shouldnt cost any more to fit than in any other car, so if anyone gives you silly prices fone around. A lot of places hear "Z" and treble the price of the same job. No need. hope this helps. si:cool:

forgot to mention, boot changers come in all shapes and sizes and are deffinately not all the same. good hunting.
