Or in fact to anyone who can answer it;

Having seen all the questions and answers on the uk rear shock handbrake thingy i was wondering,

Ive got a j spec but when i get in it in the morning and reverse off the drive i hear a little wizz of a small motor for maybe a second or so after ive reversed about 5 foot, sounds like some sort of gizmo in the boot area dooing something but ive never known what, sounds similar to what id imagine the shock actuators to sound like though i know i deffo dont have any:confused:

It doesent cause me any problems, just wondered what it was!!

are you sure its not your electric aerial? LOL

I think I have the same sort of thing with mine. Does it sound like a high pitch squeel?. Sounds as if I have a hamster trapped under one of my wheels.

Sorry mate - NFI!

(oh and kia99 - you don't get hamsters under the wheels, they live in the turbos as any fule kno)

Berkley,

The noise you're referring to is probably the ABS selftest and actuators. It only activates when the car has covered a few feet and the vehicle speed exceeds something like 4mph.

Hopefully see you on the 14th at The Boat Inn.

Regards,

Danny

Kia does it do this each time you first brake in the morning, mine used to do this when it had some air in the system a while back.

Yeah, that sounds right. Thanks.

I will bleed the fuel lines and see what happens.
