ok, sounds a bit stupid but i sometimes struggle to pull away quickly from a standstill!

What are people's thoughts on the best takeoff?? What revs? Drop the clutch or feed it?

I seem to either get bogged down (just off boost) or smoke the tyres to fu*k!!

Not that it's really a problem, 'cos even when i do get a cr*p start, I can usually sail past whoever's there once i'm on full boost :D :D :D

You need to feed the clutch in progresively. The problem with the Z32 is it weights 1 1/2 tons so is a PITA to get moving. If you're on a stock clutch, be carefull, they don't take too kindly to lots of hard starts ;)

For the ultimate start you'd need to rev to about 3k rpm, then slowly let the clutch in while gradually pressing the accelerator. Quite hard to explain but comes with practise ;)

yup, works like a torque convertor on an auto, but without the losses ;) :D its all about getting the engine to max torque & keeping it there while feeding the power to the box without spinning the wheels

or get TC, put it on max slip then do it. mucho power no spin! :D

I had the back end come out at the top end of 2nd (about 50mph) pulling onto the motorway sliproad this morning.. scared the bejeezus out of me! First time I've done that in the manwhel..

Standing starts are never very hot though - trying to light the tyres up on mine just results in bouncybouncybouncybouncy action from the back wheels.. That'll be me knackered rear shocks & subframe bushes then :(

My Zed is a93 jap auto, and if I get it right the rear wheels will just start to squeal from a standing start. In the dry etc, and its standard. But it wont at full throtle, I need to give it about two thirds.
