Right - if the car I'm getting has Bose gear, then it's gonna go out the window quick sharpish (well man.. it's a tape player! haven't used them for years..)..

I know the Bose system has an amp in it, and you have to get a convertor to remove the amp if you're keeping the standard speakers..

Here's a question - what level does that amp expect? is it line level? In which case, could I use the pre-outs (phono) off my head unit? (Pioneer DEH-9100R) rather than getting a convertor?

Alternatively, I guess I could get these adaptor plates that I've read about and fit the Infinity 610cs components I've got lying around..

Anyone got the part # for the adaptor plates?

from what I've heard about the amp, it's simply not worth keeping. I'm pretty sure that people just re-wire to the rear speakers that's what I'm about to do.

I thought only the US models had Bose gear ...

You can often find Bose stuff on eBay as people are usually chucking it out and if you trawl around the US web sites yu can usually find info about that kit.

I have the Bose system still running from my new Kenwood CD player using the in built amp that comes with the Bose. Then use a separate amp to power a 12" Kenwood sub in the boot. It sounded pretty sweet until I blew one of the rear speakers. Just upgrade I guess.
