Just to add to Macca's post, I was down @ SE today and took some pictures of the cracked suspension arms that the tension rods attach to. Very worrying so as mentioned before it's defo worth getting your car checked out if you have the poly bushings. Sorry about the picture size but I wanted to make sure that no detail was lost.

What was the link on the other side like? It must have seen the same kind of duty and should be in a similar state otherwise this points to some other cause.

 

What was the poly bush like and how long in?

 

Does look like metal fatigue though - take it that it hadnt come apart though but looks close to it.

 

Seems to raise more questions

Forgot to mention that the other side was much the same.

 

From talking to BOB today, SE are not selling or fitting Poly bushings to this part of the car.

 

He showed me the rose joint that they fit to the tension rods and they seem pretty solid but with movement to allow for the suspension arm to move.
