As you are all aware I’m sure, I like a laugh and a joke but this is a serious thread, perhaps my only one.

This weekend, Sunday 24th August to be precise is the 2nd anniversary (if you can call it that) of the death of a very dear friend of mine, Martin Dawson.

He was killed in a car accident on the M11 when a lorry driver fell asleep at the wheel. The crash also claimed the lives of his 2 children Laura and Robert. They were the sweetest, kindest natured kids you could ever meet. Martin was just a guy I clicked with. We had the same stupid sense of humour and outlook to life. It was tragic that his and that of his children were cut so short.

I miss him still, a lot.

I just wanted his name on here, never got the chance to tell him about this great place and the new friends I have made.

It’s a sad story, so sorry for that, I like to make people laugh if I can, not miserable!

Have a great weekend everyone and drive carefully.

That stinks mate :( Life can be so cruel.

Kinda puts life in to purspective and how unimportant our cars and other material objects really are.

I feel for you mate but moreso for Laura, Robert and Martin who did not get to see life through to a natural end. I suppose you could argue that its better where they are now. I hope it is.

Take care everyone.

Feel for you mate. And all my respect for keeping his memory. hugh

Just read this and made me feel sad,as i had a mate who died on M1 last october ,a lorry crossed the reservation ,went head on into his works van, left wife and 5 kiddies, one was only week old,but i am glad i read it as it reminded me of him,we tend to forget things like this very quickly, human nature i suppose, the day before the accident i was helping him on his old car,we had a good laugh that day, makes me smile about that even now,i feel for you james300,life can be so cruel sometimes,:( Tony

Very touching mate :(.

I'm sure he would have appreciated you thinking about him .

My thoughts go out to him, his kids and his remaining family.
