Well its offical, Nissan are going to reopen the Hiratsuka factory to make me a f*cking windscreen!

If you've seen my Z at Billing you would have saw the nasty set of cracks. Insurance garage said most of the parts are the same as the UK spec i.e. wing, trim etc, apart from one...the windscreen. This, my friends costs £600+ and takes a month to come from japan...

"but I have had Autoglass replace my windscreen last year with no probs" I say.

"They fitted the wrong one" says garage,

"What is wrong with it" worries about strength and fixtures flashing around my head!

"Its blue" say garage

"Its what!"

Yep as Autoglass had replaced my glass with a UK blue tinted one, A Nissan dealer has told the insurance garage that its the wrong one and let me wait a month for a bronze tint replacement. Also, now an insurance assessor wants to look at my car cos Mr Q Wilson of the BBC told him its stolen, so its "we can fix it" or "no sorry goodbye" next week!

Im stuffed for Traxs now by the looks of things!

It is a well known fact that most insurance loss adjusters in fact drive Mondeos. And blow goats.

As for QW, I really cant get on with this fella. He seems to think its cool to buy a 20 year old Rolls Royce but so help you god if you buy an imported Zed.

Can you not salvage one from a wreck and get them to install that? Some people on here had Z's ready for breaking a short while ago.

i'm sure AndyZ still had a windscreen

 

and what is the problem, if you ask for a blue tint uk windscreen, why wont they install one for you ?

 

cant you reason with the insurance company that point ? they should not be able to stall the claim for something so stupidly cosmetic, if you agree to have the wrong one installed

I'm going to mention to them that I can get the windscreen second hand and see what they say. The insurance garage is getting the parts from a Dealer(Ancaster) and is quoting parts that the dealer recommended i.e. its an import, it needs a bronze windscreen!

I'll see what the insurance company says when I suggest I could save them money.
