I just replaced the rear transmission mount on my 1992 import auto n/a.

 

The old one looked ok though, no splits in the rubber, seemed soft enough. When they deteriorate can you tell by looking at it ?

 

Has anyone replaced theirs and the old one looked knackered ?

really tell when you hold them side-by-side end on then you'll see if it's sagged 'cos the old one will be lower. What you're effectively doing by fitting a new one is raising the gearbox back to where it should be, be it only a few mm, but enough to cause the prop to vibrate!;)

I guess I was expecting to see it falling to bits, if this does not stop the vibration than its the centre prop shaft bearing next.
