I watched Thames Valley's finest try and find a 3 cars (yes 3) with the tracker system............

First off they got a signal of one that had been reported stolen, phoned Tracker and confirmed it was a Porsche they were looking for, then another 2 cars one a Range Rover and I didn't see the other. They then went back to the station to fit all the ariels to the cop car so they could use the Tracker signals, then they went looking............

They drove round for a good 2 hours (As far as I can remember!) and all they could do was complain that the radio signal was bouncing of the buildings and that they couldn't tell where it was, IMHO that's not good at all...........

Then they got a call over the radio, a uniformed officer in a squad car found them by driving round without using a Tracker.

I just thought it was pretty pants really as it's supposed to locate the vehicle not give a rough area of the whereabouts, it was a pretty big estate that they were driving round.

However, a Golf R32 was taken from a showroom with the keys (how did they manage that!) Tracker was activated and was found some time later in a hospital carpark un damaged, good job it wasn't on a housing estate!!

That's my point really mate, If insurers would have seen how pants they are they wouldn't go on about how every performance car should have one or you don't get insured.

It didn't come out well IMHO........

Spend £500 on a bit of kit that the police use, spending 2 hours looking for your car and all that after an hour back at the station fitting all the correct arials to the police car so they can go looking for it, even then it was down to uniformed officer in a squad car using his eyes!

And by that time it's in a metal box on a ship!! (okay maybe not gone in 60 seconds but you get my point!)

I think insurers have a back hander from Tracker!

Without temping fate (fingers crossed) IMHO the best defence is a top quality Cat 1 alarm, a disc-lock and a garage to park the car in!!

Matty.

There are 2 versions though.

GPS, which will be found anywhere in the world, however a clear view of the sky is needed, so areas with lots of trees, tall buildings or even bridges will mess up the system. So if its parked in an underground car park or even a multi story, it will lose its GPS signal.

The radio mass is just as accurate, no matter what GPS system say, and will not be as effected at the GPS system with tall buildings. So it will work on multi story carparks, and any area where the skyline is covered.

But I think the coverage is not as good.

What you really want is to get the tracker signal yourself so you can find where it is and go kick the shit out of them.

I will devise a way to do this one day ;)

PMSL!! :D:D Imagine the look on their faces when you appear on their doorstep with a group of biiiig mates :D:D

Imagine their faces as you pump CS gas into the cockpit via sms from your mobile!!! That should stop the little tea leaf fVckers!!!!

:D :D :D

SparkZ

Bob sells the system at Safe & Sound which allows you to phone up your car and do stuff like cut the fuel or set the alarm off. :D

Now that's better than Tracker!!

:D

Matty.

Dont bother with the CS gas. Goto South Africa and get one of the flame thrower systems which are legal. There is also an electric shock system which gives a nasty electric shock to any one who touches the steering wheel ;)

But the law says, if the person dies as a result you will be charged with murder. :(
